TLC I love them so much having an opportunity to grow up with the female empowering group there is literally video of me in 1992 rapping and dancing on my sixth birthday to Lisa Nicole "Left-Eye'"s Lopes's ( May 27, 1971 to April 25, 2002) part that I have on video. So I dedicate this blog entry to her as well.
So back to the group right has opened doors for a lot of major female groups of the 1990s and 2000s all ready. They fought for controversial topics such as AIDS/HIV Awareness and Practicing Safe sex as well. The group started in 1991 formed by Perry "Pebbles" Reid former wife of music mogul and co-founder, L.A. Reid of LaFace Records. The group which consists of Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas, and the late, Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopes were a group who was formed to inspire and change the masses, with hit songs like "Baby,Baby,Baby", "Ain't 2 Proud to Beg", "Red Light Special", "Creep", "Diggin' On You", "No Scrubs", "Silly Ho" "Girls Talk", "Unpretty". They have had so many hits, #1 hits, won awards from songwriting, AMAs, and so much more, across the board, success it has been astounding. They also did films as well does anyone remember "House Party 3" with them starring as "Sex as a Deadly Weapon" with Immature, and of course Chilli, "What Chilli Wants" with her television show on VH-1. They have proven they are triple threats and can have solo success as well.
Now we get a chance to find out the real story, we all have been apart of their lives, each woman has had solo success in television, music, film, and have achieved success worldwide overseas all over the world. It is finally time for them to tell the story about how they each achieved success with all of the obstacles that were thrown their way, they finally get a chance to shed light on what really happened, and now the puzzle becomes complete. I think it is appropriate especially after 11 years since the passing of the multi-talented, ambitious, driven, spunky, creative, and flamboyant, "Left-Eye"she had an energy in her music that made you even want to be her. She can rap and spit a verse so fast you wouldn't know what she was hitting you with right away. There is a rumor actually that one of the cast members may be replacing Left- Eye but I will wait for confirmation for that story. "Crazy, Sexy, Cool" the film is starring Drew Sidora (Step Up, The Game, Motives 2), Keke Palmer (Akeelah & the Bee, Madea's Family Reunion, Joyful Noise, Ice Age 2), and hip-hop artist, remember "Lip Gloss", Niatia "Lil' Mama" Kirkland
The film is starring Drew Sidora as the T in TLC playing (Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins), Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopes played by Lil'Mama who has a strikingly resemblance to the late singer and the same spirit and energy of Lisa., and Keke Palmer starring as the ever sweet, cool, and sexy, Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas. The group collectively all had major appeal that crossover to all generations of people and walks of life. It's amazing how many can identify and love each of the members of the group and find them relatable.
The film for VH-1 will debut this fall, October 22, 2013. I have a clip for all of my readers who haven't had a chance to watch just yet. Click below and follow the link.
