Happy Birthday Oprah!!!! A tribute for your 60th birthday!!!!

Oprah was a beauty queen as a teen and participated as well one of her dreams she stated was  "To be a journalist"
Who knew this cutie would be one of the most powerful women
September 08, 1986 the show that skyrocketed her career "Oprah"'s television show debuts on ABC network.
In honor of Oprah's birthday (January 29th), I had to honor her cause without her there really would be no "Inside the world Honey Brown Sugar" blog. Let's just keep it real. Oprah Gail Winfrey better known as The Queen of All Media with her OWN network's (pun intended) is celebrating her 60th birthday and 60 let's just say never looked more fabulous actually. She's done so established, created, and built so many things for people. I cannot wait to see what she has in store in the future.  She has been working so hard since her teens, but no one could have predicted she would become one of the most powerful, successful, and richest African American women to date. Let's go with a little bio of Lady O. I have to do this cause to be honest with you not only is she one of my heroes. I even got a chance to play her once in high school for a project for a U.S. History class.  I wouldn't mind being this woman. Cause she has inspired and led me to want to get into the industry. Oprah Winfrey was born in a low-income, rural, town of Maycomb, Mississippi on January 29, 1954  to her parents Vernita Lee & Vernon Winfrey.  She started out as a news reporter on Chicago's WLS-TV when she was nineteen years old. She did so well and it was syndicated she was discovered she also beat out Phil Donahue and later ended up doing and becoming the talk show hostess with the mostest. On September 08, 1986 Oprah started her first talk show where she became so successful she started the Oprah's book club, she helped people of all walks of life open their souls, discover themselves, taught them to live their best lives, she showed people how to love, how to give to others, through her generous, stunning, astounding actions. Oprah showed people how important philanthropy, nurturing, kindness, and giving to individuals is so important. She has transformed and launched careers such as the President Obama, Tyler Perry, Iyanla Vanzant, Nate Berkus, Mehmet Oz, Dr. Robin Smith, , and Marianne Williamson. Her couch has been graced by so many people and she has had the privilege of interviewing everyone literally all people from all over for 25 years. The series finale ended on May 25, 2011. It never stopped Oprah she has continued building and expanding the "Oprah" brand. She has done that with a radio show, "O" magazine, reality television shows, she has done films such as "The Color Purple" which she also produced the Broadway show as well, "Beloved", most recently, "The Butler", she has been in over twenty films from animated, drama, and comedy. Oprah can literally do it all. She opened a school to benefit young girls in Johannesburg, Africa which she visits frequently, and she even calls the girls "her daughters". Oprah has inspired, put fire in all of us in some form or way to think, to give, share, love, discover, fight for justice, be stylish, live in our means. The power of media,  Oprah Effect, word of mouth, and most of all God I believe has been the driving force behind her career. She also never forgets the people who inspired her as well such as the late Nelson Mandela and of course another media proprietor, Barbara Walters another "queen of media".  She manages to stay grounded, she has five dogs loves animals, she helps her friends such as the one we all know, Gail, she truly has a powerful gift, and

I told you she like books! Go read now cause Oprah said so just kidding but it has taken off. Anyone remember "Sula" or "Million Little Pieces" it took off.

Curvy is better-Diversity for women is necessary

Hello readers....My first post of the year for 2014! Controversy striked right away, and you know me I am ready for action. All right this January four magazine covers for the women in television series were released with Mindy Kaling, Zooey Deschanel, Amy Poehler, and Allison Williams. They are all different sizes and I believe this sometimes curvy is better, it's needed actually, when I heard about major magazines, the ones that I have been reading for years like Elle, Vogue, magazines I have looked up to for years.

When I saw they were cutting down and editing photographs just to appease the masses. I thought to myself we live in a world where this is not only one race, one background, we live in a world full of people from all backgrounds, cultures, customs, traditions. Women who come in all shapes and sizes from 0 to 25 there's no need to discriminate. I love how women in this generation are trying to really showcase the younger children and teens. It's all right to be who you are, appreciate who you are, you're never going to look exactly like someone else because everyone was created really chose and created to be their own person, individual, and to be who they are. I was kind of appalled actually because I live in the real world with people who get up everyday and they come in different sizes, heights, and they are different. You're DNA is specifically tailored to you, you will never be or look exactly like someone else. You are this way for a reason to be different.

Now I loved how they chose four women of all different backgrounds, they reflected women in television of all walks of life because they have been in the industry for a long period of time. They come from all different journeys, they are different shapes and sizes. It is necessary to show that for kids, teens, who admire and are inspired by these people. It may sound like a lot because they are role models, it comes with the territory of being in the television, music, and entertainment industry. I think it's sort of sad that some people thought Mindy Kaling's cover was cut off on purpose. It was cut I don't believe with poor intention. She was on that cover to show women of all backgrounds you made it. She chose the photograph! I just believe it was her choice, she even stated it was her choice. I just believe now we have to accept it's all right. It's good for a woman to look like a woman, to be curvaceous, to be petite, to have long legs, to be 6 feet tall, to have different hair colors. Diversity is necessary because we are all different individuals. I am happy to see them all on the cover of these high profile magazines, but disappointed some thought her photo was cut purposely. She was put on the cover to show that you can become a television star and also be not of the common All-American bombshell or typical size 0. I love that and think we need to continue reflecting that remember diversity is needed that's what is is in the real world, curvy is always better, and healthy is best. It's always a pleasure to write to you my readers. I will be back for more.
