"Brooklyn show us how you hustle" Watch Hustle in Brooklyn this Fall on BET

I feel like the last few years I have seen a lot happening in Brooklyn. I have been able to visit a lot more frequently old friends and family. I have even dated a few people from Brooklyn too. Oh and my family on my father’s side just so happens to be from there and I lived there too as a baby. I have been visiting Brooklyn “BK” since I was a child so for me to do this story is a big honor I am humbled to be writing about a borough that has definitely been influential in my life and my families life too. So when I heard the concept for BET (Black Entertainment Television’s) latest reality and upcoming show I was immediately drawn to it right away. BET has had many hits I have noticed killing it with their reality television series, movies, sitcoms, and even their award shows honoring and always showing superb black excellence. Have you seen their shows like “College Hill”, “The Quad”, “Hit the Floor”, “Being Mary Jane”, “The Game” just to name a few. I believe with this new upcoming show it’s going to take people in New York City and Brooklyn give them a taste of why we hustle, why are they always on their grind so much? I think when you meet these people you will see why. “Hustlin’ is Winning”.

 I was thinking wait a minute what about Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx but I guess because so many other major superstars are from those boroughs and have been featured on many other television networks and series. It seemed like Brooklyn was probably the best way to go. Considering how the neighborhood has drastically changed and gentrified over the years with new restaurants, new shopping malls, large corporate buildings, landmarks have been redone, larger department stores have been made. So I have seen the change in Brooklyn the last 10 years.

 I believe when you come from a borough that is well known to so many people around the world. You are bound to have this extra confidence, swag, sass, or a bop in your step. You know you have learned how to hustle, how to survive, and how to most of all make a name for yourself. Remember Notorious B.I.G, Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, Spike Lee, Aaliyah, and so many others are from Brooklyn who were born and bred all went on to make names for themselves to represent New York City too.

I hope that this show will focus on what each of these millennial is trying to accomplish, they each have the hustle and drive to be successful in their creative field of choice. The cast is full of characters, real people who have all made a brand and name for themselves in entrepreneurship, business, marketing, publicity, fashion, retail, event planning, hosting, acting, comedy, and many other fields. I love that this is the focus because this time right now there’s so much happening that it should be documented for millennials to show what they have been up to in their career choices. I have heard some “baby boomers” say “Your generation is one of the most talented and gifted especially when it comes to technology and building social media platforms”. I hope that this show will showcase that our generation can still have some old fashion values when it comes to the workforce like dedication, commitment, loyalty, punctuality, focus, and drive. Yet we are just faster paced, more tech savvy, and we know when something is amazing it needs to be shared, we know how to get it out there right away. Especially when it is something that can benefit masses of people. So let’s get to know these cast of characters who are all millennials born between the (1980s-2000s)

Alicia is an up and coming marketing manager who owns her own public relations company and business. She has popular clients who are featured in mainstream media. You can follow her on IG @MsGooding she owns a company called “The Code”. Love hearing about a girl boss especially one who’s from the city and is literally on her grind trying to make ends meet I get it and I see what it takes to get there.

Next is Azia is a “jack of all trades” she can sing, rap, model, and she’s a television host as well. So she’s guaranteed to break out and get her career going even further with her profession. You can follow this up coming star at @aziaiam on IG.

Then you have Danielle she’s best friends with Azia and loves to host events with her bestie any time when she’s ready. You can follow this girl so you can turn up with her @dannyduces_

We also have an upcoming African American Comedy Queen coming to the show I love hearing this because there is such a limit of comedic actresses and comediennes who get their name spotlighted. So when I saw that not only is she beautiful but just so happens to be funny too. I thought uh oh get ready Tiffany Haddish, Monique, and Sommore, and Sheryl Underwood you’ve got some competition. Her names is Eva Evans fantastic name and stage name. Let’s just hope that this comedic diva makes her way up to the stage and on to the big screen too. You can follow her at @evaevans on Instagram

Last is our socialite and party girl she likes to work a room and mingle. She also happens to be single for the gentlemen who ready my blog. This is Ivy she’s the social butterfly looking for love so we will see how this works on the show how will the ladies balance dating, relationships, businesses, family, their personal lives, and the dreams on this show.

Ron I cannot front Ron is fine! (I can say that because this is going on my blog and I run this so I am free to give compliments). I am sorry but you are I am just going to put it out there…I don’t know you but you are very handsome. Ron is focused on his rap career and making it into the music industry. So look out for his upcoming work and projects. I want to see who he pairs up with will he be working with some well -known producers, musicians, and songwriters. We will see stay tuned. Darnell he’s an entrepreneur now I love business-minded people I come from a family of people who believe in building brands and having something that can benefit and help the people no matter what the product or service is too. So I am very curious to see what he and the other cast members will bring to the table when it comes to building brands for themselves. Jesse I haven’t met a talent manager before I definitely would love to because if it were up to me I would love to see how a talent manager scouts to find that up and coming new superstar. Jesse is a talent manager and celebrity developer I would like to sit with him one day just to see how do you know who’s the real deal and who is just a flash in the pan. You know when someone has star quality and a gift that just pulls you in right away. You notice it the moment they form a sentence. Talent like that never goes unacknowledged. Marco he works for a financial institution so you always need someone to cover you when it comes to the finance world. I think knowing how to manage your money even when it comes to your daily spending habits. It takes you to a place you never even imagined. Its great to see that this crew will have someone who can school them and prepare them to keep their finances in check when it comes to business. So he’s business minded and also happens to be dating Randy another cast member on the show. Randy Bowden is another up and comer who is into modeling and just recently signed to State Artist Management.

Next I am going to put these two together because they are family and they started a business together. TP and Perks found a family business together which focuses on events and know how to turn up and bring a full fun experience to your next party. They are huge risk takers took a chance and gambled with quitting their day jobs to focus primarily on owning their own businesses. I commend them for that its something many of us with that passion and drive want to do. You have to know at the end of the day what you are walking and getting into before making a huge financial and employment commitment.

Last but certainly not least is Santos he is the man around Brooklyn who everyone knows him he cofounded 82 group which is one of his businesses and companies. You can follow him @tosmoney on IG.

How did Michelle Obama become an icon find out in her memoir this November 2018

Hello my wonderful readers I am so glad this is where I get to kick off my blog this feels like a full circle moment ....because I remember when President Obama was running I was attending my third semester  of college at Hunter and his name was zooming in the air through everyones ears and lips. 

 10 years ago in 2008 they were fighting and spreading the word saying “Yes we can” “Get fired up ready to go!” she is the backbone, the supportive, devoted, strength, and she comes in a gorgeous 5 foot 10 inch package her name is Michelle Lavaughn Robinson Obama she is the wife of the 44^th former president, Barack Hussein Obama and she changed the game completely as a first lady, mother, wife, and more in the White House. She changed women’s images completely as FLOTUS, which was an incredible honor to carry for everyone.

I am so honored I get to be apart of this elite club the Democratic National Committee it’s a pleasure I signed up just to volunteer, lend my support, and I am so glad I get to gain so much knowledge from 2008 to 2016 and probably in 2020 I will definitely step up to spread the word once again no matter what I am doing. I promise to continue on spreading the word to help the democrats see more progression and change in the white house, more diversity I would love to se the first female president, the first Asian president, the first Hispanic president, and more. We need to see more diversity from all walks of life. I love that she was probably writing her memoirs I bet since before Barack even made into office. She probably started his journey to become a senator or maybe before she met him. Who knows but a life lived and to experience a moment so historical for nearly a decade has to be honored, must be written down, and shared with the world. She shared Barack with all of us around the world. I can only imagine what she will share in her story as a young girl raised in Chicago, a daughter, sister, wife , mother, and her journey leading up to watching her husband pledge the oath that very cold January 20, 2009 in Washington, DC. I will never forget that moment and many others will not either. I remember exactly where I was I was at my father’s apartment watching it on his big screen television in Riverdale, Maryland. I was laughing so hard because my father was screaming “Obama!” at the television screen every time the camera panned to the massive crowd cheering in their heavy winter down jackets and  coats and hats. We watched on all of the stations it was a moment to be shared and never forgotten I will never forget how precious that time was ever.

So to hear his beautiful wife’s story who has impacted lives, she’s changed a generation of women there’s no other better story to hear than the one full of a powerful woman who is independent, confident, intelligent, well spoken, original, and she’s a boss in her own right. She could start a company and people would jump up right away to be at her aide and side. Her story will be told just like those of royalty and queens. When the next generation comes along after 2020 they will hear stories of women like Michelle Obama, Rachel Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Hoda Kotb, and so many other women will be behind these powerful women and there stories. I can go on and on about whom the next generation will learn and pass these stories down to as well. I just realize their impact and how they have changed the game and the world for women in a way that is mesmerizing and inspirational. The little girls and boys coming up and who will be born in this generation are the luckiest little kids on the planet! They have a chance to live in a world where now you really can be whoever you want to be and it all started with this woman’s husband, Dr. King, and many others who have paved and made their way and mark during the Women’s . Her new book will debut and hits bookshelves at all of the stores on……. Pay attention and look for it coming out very soon. Always a pleasure and a breeze to talk about one of my favorite political families who changed the way we look at African American marriages, relationships, and families. This family has left their mark already and changed how everyone in other countries around the world view us now. Go Michelle cannot wait to read your book. "Lady Gaga's next in line to take over the Vegas strip"

Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta better known to her fans as “Mother Monster”  or “Lady Gaga”was phenomenal at the 2017 52^nd  Super bowl where she headlined the Pepsi Halftime Show I enjoyed her performance because you were really watching someone’s dream come to life and come true. Her career has taken off into the stratosphere even more with her album, “Joanne”, her tour, music videos, her recent documentary, which is on Netflix to watch “Five Foot Two”. Her documentary showcases her grueling schedule, preparation from getting her hair, make up done, hours of rehearsal, physical therapy sessions, her personal moments with her family, and her work ethic in the studio with her producers, engineers, and writers while preparing for her next album. You also see the softer side, her connection to her loyal “Monsters” and how she loves all of her devoted fans, their support, and how much she cares for all of them.  

Lady Gaga is a beast I say that lovingly I have never seen a woman sacrifice so much all while in physical pain and still go out there and just slam their performance. She’s relentless some musical divas may want to take a break, revive themselves, maybe go on vacation for a few days or weeks to prepare themselves. No the show must go on with her and she does it well, she will put everything aside just to make sure it happens. I admire her drive, ambition, and her hustle. One thing I love is the fact that she’s a New York girl born and bred. She had a plan to simply become a star, she didn’t know how initially but she knew it was going to happen at some point.  Of course we know her road was not an easy one but she made it and found a way to break into the music, fashion, television, and now the film industry.

Lady Gaga will star in her first role where she is the lead actress in “A Star is Born” with Bradley Cooper the film comes out this October 5, 2018 so get ready people have already been buzzing and talking since the trailer’s release earlier this summer. I think she’s going to blow many minds with this role. She has already appeared in “American Horror Story” and “The Sopranos” years ago. She’s also appeared in other television shows and made cameos too.

Now in December 2018 -2019 Lady Gaga’s headed for one of my favorite places Las Vegas! I am so excited for her because I think this east coast girl will love Nevada and the glorious heat and sunshine. There’s so much to do in Vegas and I think she will love it just as many of us do during her residency. Her timing couldn’t be more perfect she’s coming in right after Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, and Mariah Carey’s residencies. So it’s perfect timing and I am sure she will slay the stage with her amazing costume changes, I have seen her site, the announcement, and a bit of previews online. She’s doing two separate shows her live concert and there will also be a separate live jazz performance. This is genius so viewers and attendees will have a full on experience with her when she performs. You get to see Lady Gaga switch up her hats a bit literally. She can perform, sing, plays instruments, dance, change costumes, she’s funny, and has an awesome sense of humor so she knows how to cater to an audience. She knows how to tap into different genres of music.

 I think this is definitely what Vegas needs right now. So are you ready to see her….I personally would love to myself, a trip to me out there I would never turn down. I think I have too much love for Vegas now especially after my last visit a year ago. So another visit would just be whip cream, and a cherry on top of my sundae. I am looking forward to it and I hope all of the Monsters and music lovers are too. So get ready she’s about to take the world by storm again. 10 years and now she’s heading for a residency cannot wait to see what else is next. Expect Greatness.
