The Grandest Distraction

"The Grandest Distraction"
My,my have you ever been so distracted by someone who has completely taken over everything in your mind. Well you have definitely done that to me.
Your thoughts are consumed by their face, their smile is the image buried in your brain and memory. Their visage is one that cannot replace that of another.
The impression of them is left on your heart, their voice you only hear in your ears and head.

The thought of them is so deep inside you that you cannot stop smiling. When your brain leads towards thoughts or their presence around you a light shines bright in your world. Color is all you see, beauty is only within reach, your heart is so full of joy. you're too excited to dream.

That's how I feel when it comes to you. You are my grandest distraction. The first person on my mind in the morning. The last person I think of before I close my eyes at night and I see only darkness appears before me. Quickly I am whisked away to dream of you. Distractions can be pleasant to some form depending on how it is taken by one individual. It is pleasing to that person but for me I am so distracted that my thoughts are only of you and I as one. My world is disorganized at times yet I cannot even think straight only when it comes to you. Even before I close my eyes the mere thought of you calms me down. You are the grandest distraction to have in my life. One that keeps me believing in the power of love, happiness, faith, and joy.
You're one of the people who helps me realize that there's a reason why you give your heart to another and why you have feelings and feel the way you do. When I feel joy I think of you the slightest joy I want shared with you. Even if pain is put upon me I want you to take it all away from me too. You're the grandest distraction, you are my grandest distraction.

Sister Souljah's new book

I am very excited to get my hands on this book. I along with many other young women have come to love this book "The Coldest Winter Ever" written by activist, writer, and former hip-hop star, Sister Souljah. I am waiting very patiently for her to take her shot at making this book into a film. This story has to become a film soon because the characters, the story line, the dialogue, and the theme of the story will do something that will change your view of how your supposed to see the world. You see the world behind the eyes of a young woman named, Winter Santiaga. You come along into this gritty, dark place in New York where she is the princess of a father who is a drug dealer kingdom. He's pretty much known around her neighborhood as the man in demand. You get to know everything about her life the rich characters who many can identify with and who you can relate to as well. You even get to know about her unrequited love, Midnight a man who she adores and loves so much. Yet does not have the same feelings because of her way of thinking and how she was raised.
Sister Souljah let's people into Midnight's world she wrote a book based on the character in 2008 and now is back for a follow up edition to Midnight's story that will be released this Spring 2011. I am excited because I love the way she wrote it and her imagery, her voice, everything she makes them so realistic it's unbelievable sometimes. Her book will be released this April 2011 so look for it in stores if you are interested and a fan of young adult novels, a fan of African-American writers and literature. This book is definitely for you.

Who is Honey Brown Sugar?

Who is Honey Brown Sugar?
I am confident not arrogant don't ever get that twisted.
Five foot-Six with hands I call my weapons of mass destruction.
Dark brown almond colored cat shaped eyes. Skin the color of honey and brown sugar.
A smile wider when full of joy is as wide as the seas.

Polite,Respectful, Goal-oriented, and Focused no matter what the odds or challenges are.
This bright beautiful butterfly knows when to hold her own and her ground.
Classiness never trashiness is a must. Hold what is precious to me close to my heart. That's where the brown sugar comes from the rich, sweetness to take over your heart and soul.

Known to break some hearts may have they will never say but my reputation I will never abuse or dismay.
Honey Brown Sugar has words of kindness, words of power, never to be confused with bringing down another human being. All to enlighten, inform, and give to people the best of her knowledge, what is true to her, and to bring goodness to all.

RED RIDING HOOD

"Ready or Not here comes the big bad wolf".... I am just kidding I am talking about a childhood classic that has now become a horror film for the ages to change your perception even more.
I am very excited to see this new film as soon as I saw the movie's poster for it I knew immediately this is going to be one that goes in the category of horror film flicks. I am talking about "Red Riding Hood" the classic fairy tale and fable that was told to so many children around the world. I love this story actually because it teaches you immediately about trust, strangers, and trusting adults too. However the director's and film producers have taken a different look on how they want this film to be projected I am very excited to see it and the outlook. There has never been a film done like it actually. The movie takes another dimension and perspective into Red Riding Hood's story line and the theme as well. The story is more of a lesson for little children to never associate with strangers with animated and talking wolves. However, in this case this story has become a modern day 21st century horror film for tweens, teenagers, and even the young at heart.

The actress within the film, Amanda Seyfried who has been in films, "Mean Girls", "Dear John", "Chloe", "Letters to Juliet", she is guaranteed to give a stellar performance in this film as well. I cannot wait to see it and I know this will be another one of her films that will be well known to the public too. So check and catch "Red Riding Hood" this spring and see what all the excitement and horror is about in this film. I am sure this will be one for you to want to see again and again.

WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH

CELEBRATE WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH!

FOR WOMEN'S HISTORY I HAD TO DO SOMETHING IN HONOR OF ALL WOMEN FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE AND BACKGROUNDS THIS IS FOR YOU.
(Dedicated to All the Strong Women I know to My Very Good Girlfriends, All the Women I have met, and all the people who have been helpful along the way, to all little girls, teens, and adults as well. All the women around the world).

You know when you're a little girl you never realize who you're going to become as a woman. It helps to have people around you to inspire you to make you a better person and influence you. In honor of Women's History Month, which is March. It is the 30th anniversary for Women's History month Here are some women who influenced me too. Anyone can influence you to make you a better person actually. For me it's been a swarm of people who have changed my outlook on what you're supposed to do as a human being, a person, and for yourself as a woman.

We really have accomplished a lot within the last two centuries. Women are allowed to do things some countries have never been able to do in America and around the world in other countries as well. Women have invented beauty products, hair care products, technology items, have started networks, empires, and so much more. Women's History month was founded in 1981 first just as a week in 1987 the Women's History project was founded and has been celebrated for years since then.
Women wish to be loved without a why or a wherefore; not because they are pretty, or good, or well-bred, or graceful, or intelligent, but because they are themselves.

Henri Frederic Amiel

I meant to do this on the first day of the month it is Women's History Month and I feel like in honor of this month It's great to be a lady lol!!!!!
There are too many powerful women out here in the world doing so many things to help people, change lives, empower women, guide women, protect them, serve them, serve and fight for our country. Also educate, build, give to women, love, give women beauty inside and out. Do you know I once heard a woman said something so powerful it changed the way I completely live my life now I take this quote to heart a lot.
"When a woman takes a step in the world she changes society". I believe that is true and it's an amazing thing because every time a woman walks down the street, she speaks to someone, looks at someone, buys something, creates something, builds something, or puts her name on it. She takes a giant leap for every single woman, teenager, and little girl around the world. I really have to do this because every single time a woman creates a business, prepares a meal, speaks her mind, helps a child, takes a risk, or comes up with an idea she changes society immediately. In honor of Women's History Month I salute the powerful women and girls who take a step to change society and help.
It's not all that being a girl sometimes....we get our nails done, have sleepovers do hair and makeup,we have girl talk, shop until we drop. We're the primary reason the economy booms. I believe in how important women are because of what we can do it's amazing. We give life, we change life, and we guide life. We are the primary reason our children turn out the way they do. We affect so much and it's a powerful thing to witness. All the time I see women shopping for groceries, rushing their children from or to school, going to work, and then still making sure they have a life of their own to be themselves too. It's a 24/7 and I applaud all the hardworking women, all the women who are dreamers, achievers, the next generation coming up now. They're are so many people to aspire to in this world you just find one woman I guarantee she will change your outlook on everything. Many women and I mean many women from all walks of life have influenced me some related and some I will never even share a conversation with but I know that they influenced my outlook and point of view on how to view myself and others too. So a toast to the women this month in March Be Proud, Be Courageous, Love Your Femininity, Love Being a Woman, Continue to be Strong, Courageous, and continue to be Yourselves too. Take care of yourselves mentally, physically, your health is so important, psychologically, your self-esteem, spiritually, and try your best to believe that you are who you are for a reason. There is no one else on this planet who will ever look, sound, walk, talk, dance, sing, or dress like you. You are your own person and you are your own individual. You can really build anything you put your mind or even think of as well. I am completely all for self-empowerment, women empowerment, and I am sure a lot of people know I believe in just building a girl or woman's life starts with her and the support of others too. I have been around a lot of women and girls to know how important it is to just have girls around you who believe in you and also support you too. Sisterhood is a powerful thing it comes in all shapes, sizes, colors, backgrounds, and walks of life. I believe in that and I hope that more people will honor this month too.

I chose superheroes and positive images of all women to showcase how beautiful inside and out they are and just how our jobs really as just being a powerful species has an affect on everyone. How are jobs are really important as first girls, daughters, children, then friends, girlfriends, lovers, wives, mothers, and our roles in society are so important every day. I hope you will appreciate this and enjoy this too. Something to remember and be proud your a woman and you're a princess or queen no matter who you are. =)
