Janet Jackson, The Who, Usher, Madonna,
Beyonce, then Bruno Mars, now Katy Perry some of the biggest superstars have
hit the Pepsi halftime show and now Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson better known as “Katy
Perry”, just turned 30 and has had a fantastic year. Perry will grace the stage
for her “Katy Kats”. Looking forward I have been a fan of her music since her
2008 album debuted seven years ago called “One of the boys”. The Santa Barbara,
California native has made her way singing songs about “California Girls”,
“Teenage Dream”, “I kissed a girl”, and now with three albums: One of the Boys,
Teenage Dream, and Prism under her belt and MTV Awards Katy has truly earned
her mark in the music business. This blue-eyed buxom beauty has had hit song
after hit song. She has inspired her fans all around the world, with her female
empowerment, inspirational anthems like “Firework” from her 2011 album and
songs like “Roar” which is another inspiring, uplifting anthem she really has
made it as an artist, has tons of endorsements, and has made her way showing
women in the music industry can be powerful, strong, creative, innovative, and
can be heard as well. Of course
her music is fun and awesome to dance, sing to as well. Katy also has done some
voiceover work as “Smurfette” for the Smurfs movie too.
So
it’s a no brainer that Pepsi would choose her as the headliner for the halftime
show for the super bowl. I think
it was genius for all of them to choose someone who can really get the audience
up, hyped, and excited. Also it will be pleasing for both women and men as
well. The show will kick off on Sunday, February 1, 2015. This woman is pretty
incredible read some of her achievements talk about humble much you would never
know but aside from her fellow artists and the women in her genre she has
accomplished so much and has only been in the business for a decade and a few
years. She won 5 MTV Video Music Awards for all of her five hit single songs.
She was on the Billboard music award charts for “California Gurls” feat. Snoop
Dogg/Snoop Lion, “Teenage Dream”, “Firework”, “Last Friday Night” (T.G.I.F),
and “The One who got away”. She actually has released five albums, she released
her Christian Gospel album, “Katy Hudson” in 2001, “One of the Boys” in 2008
when she was signed with Capitol Records, “Teenage Dream”, then “Teenage Dream
the complete confection” was re-released with two singles followed up with
“Part of Me” and “Wide Awake” one of my personal favorite Katy Perry songs too.
She has won some awards that some may not even be aware of at all. She won 3
Guinness World Record for the most singles in music, she won 14 People’s Choice
Awards, she was 2012’s Billboard “Woman of the Year”, and won 2013’s “Top
Global Recording Artist”. In 2014 in the beginning of July Katy kicked off
her Prismatic World Tour and will continue after her performance at Super bowl and into March 22, 2015. This woman is kind of like the hidden gem we all didn’t really know. She has notoriety absolutely but didn’t realize just how big a star and how incredibly talented someone is until you hear all of their amazing accomplishments as a singer, songwriter, and artist. You can get all of the information on her website at http://www.katyperry.com and here are some songs to refresh your memory as well. Visit http://www.pepsi.com for more information on the half-time show and the game as well.
