“Ne-yo”, Jennifer Lopez aka “J-lo” Derek Hough, and Jenna Dewan-Tatum will be the judges of the new reality television show, “World of Dance” the newest reality dance competition coming to NBC. As someone who took ballet classes, loves to dance, took salsa lessons, zumba classes. I love to dance something in my spirit and my heart gets me and just moves me. As soon as I saw the promotion for the show I was drawn to it right away. I have been too many concerts, a few operas, and many Broadway and off Broadway shows like “Beauty and the Beast”, “The Lion King”, “Motown” on Broadway, “AIDA”, “Platanos & Collard Greens”, “In the Heights” and many more. I took ballet classes from the time I was 4 years old at St Mark’s Dance school until I was about 10. I also took dance lessons during the summer at New Jersey Performing Arts Summer Camp and Camp At Water. When I got to high school (Academy of Sacred Heart & Cathedral High School in New York) I joined the drama club, choir, basketball, March for Life, and always tried to be involved with arts.
I am a huge fan
I tune into “Dancing with the stars” religiously every Monday night during the
spring and fall seasons. There’s still a little girl inside me who wants to be
a little pretty ballerina. Even as an adult I still wear ballet slippers ,
adult tutu skirts, and still want to run run leap and dance all around. So for
me the artistic expression of dance is important to me. I always wanted to be
an entertainer as a child. So for me ballet classes, theater, singing, model
classes, acting classes, drama club lessons were apart of my upbringing.
It’s
in my blood and everyone’s to be creative, expressive, some people just have
natural creativity and can make something cool, fresh, and new right away. Now with the hosts of this show this
puts them all in the hot seat to judge all of the contestants for every type of
dance that people perform. The first host of the show you know him as multi
Grammy winner, Ne-Yo, producer, actor, and singer. Shaffer Smith better known as Ne-Yo has done a lot of
choreography in his music videos “One in a million”, “Closer”, “She Knows”,
“Miss Independent”, and “Let me love you ”. He’s familiar with how to put
choreography to a great song, the message, and knows how to connect to it
instantly.
This woman needs no introduction at all “J-lo” Jennifer Lopez
the Bronx Goddess the ALMA, MTV award, Grammy award, television network owner
of Nuvo, the original flyy girl of In Living Color. She has produced other
dance shows with her ex-husband, Marc Anthony and has judged of course American
idol on Fox. With her experience with television, film, dance, acting, Jennifer
knows how to steal an audience and capture them. These auditioners will be in
amazing hands. She knows all different forms of dancing salsa, contemporary,
hip hop, and has had many years of training and experience from all over. “J-lo”
can show you a thing or too if you ever saw her movie , “Shall we Dance” in
2004 or her most recent music videos like “I Ain’t your mama” you know this
woman still has it and she can move. She along with all of the many contestants
know you need to shine and show people that you can move.
The next judge is Jenna Dewan Tatum you know her from the
“Step Up” franchise definitely one of my favorite films and I know this woman
is incredibly talented. She will be one of the panelists which is pretty
genius. She dances with grace, style, fluidity, and sophisticated movement. She
and her very well known husband, Channing Tatum met in the film of “Step Up” dated and later married and
now have a little girl. These two know how to set a dance floor on fire. Jenna
has even teamed up with her husband during the pre production and auditions for
her husband’s Magic Mike show now in Las Vegas, Nevada .
Last but not least he is a dancer, choreographer, and
occasional judge on “Dancing with the stars” he’s part of the Hough Duo (his
sister is actress, singer, dancer, and judge of Dancing with the Stars”,
Julianne Hough). He has won on the DWTS stage many times and has been on the
television show for 17 years since 2005. He also has a phenomenal show “Move”
which gets the audience involved and entertains the crowd too at the same time.
He is someone who will bring
knowledge, experience, and he’s an expert in Cha Cha, Salsa, Ballroom,
Argentine Tango, Foxtrot, and modern contemporary and choreography. He and sister know how to build
confidence with their students whether they are celebrities or non
-celebrities. They know how to bring out your inner dancer. The dancer who we
never want the world to see behind closed doors.
