You all know I am a big J-Lo fan and have been influenced by
many entertaining divas out there. Who inspire us all on how to be fashionable,
classy, sophisticated, strong, and hold our own wherever we are dealing with
confrontation, challenges, and when we have to rise to the occasion. That’s why
I believe I loved her music growing up, what her brand stood for, and how she
continues to reinvent herself to keep up with the times and to show that you
can still be relevant, interesting, change the music and entertainment
industry. All while accomplishing everything and not settling for less ever.
Last year she took home a 2018
MTV Video Vanguard Music Award for
her phenomenal career.
The timing for her debut album was perfect. It was as if all
of the forces of the music industry came together and she was just destined to
become a star. Her acting career was taking off like a rocket, her fashion
sense was all over in magazines she was making a name for herself, and then it
came out around late 1998 that she was going to be dropping her debut album,
“On the 6”. On June 1, 1999 Jennifer Lynn Lopez debuted her album with hits
like “Feelin’ So Good” ft. Big Pun and Fat Joe, “Let’s Get Loud”, “No Me Ames”, and “If you had my love”.
Now 20 years later…..
Has anything really changed I don’t believe so she just said
to everyone without having to say it verbally…”You think I am just an
actress….I am about to show you a Latin American woman from New York City can
do it all, and I can wear 4 inch stilettos while making it happen and do
backflips, bachata, and a pirouette.
She has a way of making people go “DAMN! I didn’t know….she could do that!”. So
I think it’s incredible that after a Puerto Rican girl who started out playing
softball as a kid was going to end up breaking records, and has proven I can be
“The No Limit Woman”. She doesn’t want to limit herself to anything she’s going
to accomplish it all. She has started her own production company, continues to
gain many endorsements last year she was just the cover girl for Guess, she
just killed the 2019 Met Gala Camp themed event this May, she just got engaged
to her true equal and real match A-Rod, and one of her twins Max and Emme are
following in her parents footsteps singing now. She was just seen singing one
of Alicia Keys’s hit songs, “If I Ain’t Got You”. So now that J-Lo has passed
on her amazing genes to her twins. I wonder what’s next will there be more
coaching and grooming from her on the hit tv series, “World of Dance” and will
there be more books, projects, and films in the future. I can see many more greats
coming I don’t think she’s going to slow down until she makes sure that she’s
accomplished it all until she reaches even past the pinnacle of her success.
Her career will continue to expand because with a woman who is business savvy
and an entertainer. There is so much to keep giving and evolving from her. I am
looking forward to seeing much more. So in honor of “On the 6” the album
dedicated to her Bronx Castle Hill roots and where she came from. Let’s get
ready to celebrate and don’t forget…she’s going on tour this year around the
country for “It’s My Party” this summer begins in July! Let’s give it up for
one of the Puerto Rican Godmother of Entertainment , The Bronx Bombshell, and
