Hello my readers how are all of you doing I miss you all
like crazy it’s been just a month I believe since I had a chance to just write
and sit down. There is so much going on right now. I have been a bit
overwhelmed these last 3 months. I am always paying attention to what is
happening around pop culture though. I make sure I am following music trends as
well as
Breakout Artists who are making a way for themselves in 2019
We have come to the end of an
amazing decade where breakout artists from all over the globe have made a mark
for themselves in all genres of music. I wanted to discuss some current artists
who are already making a mark and an impact in music. Some musicians who have a
unique style, look, and sound that’s all their own. These unique and special
ladies have “IT” the it factor which is indescribable and not tangible. You
cannot physically touch what they have but they have a special talent and gift
that when you see or hear their music. You know they were destined to become a
recording artist or musician.
Lizzo, Dua Lipa, Megan thee
Stallion, Brittany Howard all of these musicians have the capabilities to become
successful and to surpass their other fellow musicians.
Lizzo has had an incredible 2019
year with two movies and a breakout hit that did a crossover from the United
Kingdom to across the seas in the United States giving us all the good vibes
and positivity with her anthems of the year, “Truth Hurts” and “Good as hell”.
She recently performed on Saturday Night Live on NBC breaking it down and
hyping up the crowd with her two hit songs. There’s something about her as an
artist who definitely has the IT Factor. She has been motivating women of all
sizes and shapes to embrace who they are and who they want to be. She is originally
from Detroit, Michigan born Melissa Vivianne Jefferson on April 21, 1988 she
originally started out as a singer in an all-girl group back in high school.
She decided to go solo later and released a few mixtapes and albums later. Her
album was finally released and her hit single “Juice” was released on the Cape
Line spritzer television commercial this spring of 2019. Lizzo has that quality
of inspiring young women with their body image, taking risks and chances not
just in the industry but also musically whether through collaborations or
genres. I expect in 2020 we will see the same for her bringing plenty of hits
in the near future to music streaming channels, online, videos, and other music
venues. I am sure with her
infectious energy and pizzazz she will going on tour in the near future.
Dua Lipa or as her fans call
themselves thanks to Wendy Williams they christened themselves as “The Du
LaPeeps” the Dua Lipa People you would say who love this Westminster, London
born artist made her debut on August 22, 1995 the English born singer with five
feet-8 inch tall frame is originally a model and then broke out in 2017 with her hit album, Dua Lipa and hit
number one single, “New Rules” which is an anthem for all young women and men who
want a fresh start in new relationships. You apply these new rules to dating in
relationships. Next she teamed up with EDM/Dance-Pop/Pop music producer, Calvin
Harris for 2018’s hit summer single, “One Kiss” and soon followed up with
“Electric”. Her second studio album will be released this upcoming 2020 titled
“Future Nostalgia”. She has already been nominated for three Brit Awards and
Grammys.
Next she had a hit song that was
breakout anthem for all of the ladies who wanted to have a hashtag Hot Girl Summer
2019 was on repeat on the radio featuring Megan thee Stallion. Born February
15, 1995 Megan Pete is a breakout rap/hip hop female artist killing it in the
music industry. She released her first mixtape, “Like A Stallion” and broke out teaming up with Cardi B, Quavo of the Migos, and City Girls. Her album was released with 1501 Certified Entertainment she released her first hit song "Big Ole Freak" making women and men all feel comfortable with their sexuality and owning that everyone has a dark side and embracing the complexity of what it is be a human being. She released her album Fever this spring 2019 on May 17, 2019. She has also teamed up woth Chance the Rapper and Lil Ju as well. This woman is breaking barriers in music and is next in line for the hip hop crown. She's one to watch.
Brittany Howard I was at home about
a few days right after Thanksgiving this year when I saw new artist, Brittany Howard
on NBC’s “The Today Show”. I knew she
had something special and was gifted I started singing along with her and I
knew she has that IT Factor. She not only can sing, write, she’s got soul,
stage presence, she’s like a female James Brown she can captivate audiences
with her soulful voice and lyrics. She knows how to get your attention while
performing and grabs you with her music. She was born October 2, 1988 and has an incredible work ethic and has crossover into different genres using instruments, charisma, and when she performs it's infectious and incredible. Make sure you follow her on all social media. She is the frontwoman of the The Alabama Shakes and this girl has a voice that you know she was destined to be star.
