You know these two are one of my favorite couples. I am so blessed I happened to discover them at a time when I really just needed some extra guidance, some insight aside from family and friends on relationships and marriage. I was 30 going on 31 when this happened was just working for a great fashion retail company for two years, making great money, beautiful office in a high-rise office building by the Freedom tower, that summer lost my job, earlier that year broke up with my boyfriend after 2 years. During that summer my confidence was shot, it was like whoa what is happening right now. I felt like I was in a drama and comedy film. I sacrificed a lot for this job. So long story short I started thinking what do I need to improve on in relationships, what do I want to feel in a positive relationship?, what does a positive, loving, fulfilling, strong, relationship look like these days? I swear when you ask God for something whether in private or publicly in your prayers or thoughts.
He will give it to you. God gave me 10 young millennial couples to watch on YouTube. The Lokkos, The Dekus, The Grimwades, The Caseys, The Edwards, The Alfords, and a few more people. They were able to show me through their podcasts, videos, advice, and showed me ok this is what real love and positivity looks like too. I needed some excitement, inspiration, joy, and hope. I began my “love class” in 2017 I am going to say completion came for me probably around 2021 it was like I literally went to Love school and then I graduated when my ex and I got back together a few months. So yes I graduated but hey the ex still needed some work too. I gave it a second chance but I do believe these videos did work though too.
Now what did I learn true love exists, real love exists, destiny, fate is a real thing in the world. Some things are destined to happen. Clear example when you keep meeting someone in a situation multiple times over and over again. When your life paths keep crossing or you both are supposed to be going to the same travel destination. Yet you and that person don’t realize your heading in the same direction. I believe the universe is trying to tell… “Yes you are supposed to be with this person”. You are going to meet your person trust me. I realize it after dating in between watching videos, getting more insight, paying attention to a lot of signs, this really helped me. As I said this couple influenced me majorly. They made me realize that every person is supposed to be loved, is never supposed to be in a negative or unfulfilling relationship. They are supposed to end with someone who makes you feel supported and safe. That's what I realized with these two they truly were destined to be together. When someone says "How are we going to make your dream come true". You know Devale picked and Khadeen both picked winners. So let's find out who is this fabulous couple.
Who are the Ellises?
The Ellises consist of 6 people now… Hofstra University graduates, Brooklyn natives now Atlanta residents The Ellises have now become one of the top successful YouTube couples and multimedia personalities. Along with their new book which was released this February 2023 has just reached #9 on the New York Times best sellers list.
Patriarch, Devale Ellis an NFL wide receiver athlete he studied rhetorical studies & performance now turned actor and "Khadeen the Queen", 38 a pageant queen with stunning Caribbean looks, who earned both her bachelors and master's degree in Broadcast Journalism at Hofstra University Khadeen Ellis, 38 along with their four handsome little boys, Jackson 11, Kairo, 6, Kaz, 5, and the youngest ,Dakota, who will be 2 this coming fall. In the household the Josephs (Khadeen’s parents) also help their eldest daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren too. I remember the first video watching them raise Jackson and Kairo I think Kairo was just born and Kaz was coming a little later he was on the way. I remember watching them their journey of balance. They are a young African American-Caribbean millennial couple who are balancing dreams, business, children, family life, their own individual lives, and more. I think they just have this dynamic bond that isn’t just friendship connection, they genuinely love each other and have found a way to make their marriage work.
There’s no book they follow that says "Do your marriage this way" No together they simply follow their rules and it works for them, Devale comes from a religious family he grew up in the church, his parents also have been married a long period of time, Khadeen’s mother and father also were married for a long period of time, and have a strong faith based family unit. So I think they both know we will put God at the center of our family, we put us first, then we put our children next to make sure they are well taken care of, healthy, happy, and attended to as well. You see that recipe for them works. They know their children seeing their parents and grandparents are happy, they’re working hard, they are able to see that positivity carry out. I agree with that the hard work, the motivation keeps your kids going.
“The Ellises” as a couple I believe show critics, naysayers who talk about millennials in our generation that marriage is skyrocketing now, especially after the pandemic slowed down young people in their twenties, thirties, and forties all saw themselves wanting to get married. I think even older couples wanted to either get remarried to new people, renew their vows, or even get back on the dating scene. So the Ellises and many other YouTube, media personalities, actors/actresses are making us realize yes you can have it all the marriage, the friendship, family, home, a partner who will support you as well. Congratulations Ellises and cannot wait to see the television show, more books, and more tours in the future. You both are making such a positive difference.

The book adaptation becomes the television Amazon Prime Video series
Daisy Jones a redhead with freckles, big blue eyes, and a dynamic energy that touches audiences when she performs with her band “The Six” in the early 1970s transforms pop and rock & roll. She has the presence energy of Carly Simon, Janis Joplin, Stevie Nicks, and Jimi Hendrix. She knows how to grab your attention on the stage with her voice, her songs she writes with her band, and her infectious energy. You would think Daisy was a real-life artist and would want her to be real. Well actually Daisy is all fictional and was created from the creative genius, Taylor Jenkins Reid a New York Times best-selling author who wrote, “Forever Interrupted”, “Malibu Rising”, “Maybe in Another Life”, “One True Loves” which is scheduled to become a film this April 2023, “The 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo”, and “Evidence of the Affair”. Reid has a way of writing that makes you connect to her characters, you see traces of real people in her characters, or maybe inspiration from her own real life. “
Daisy Jones and the Six” is no different and has a way of getting into your spirit and soul.
I read the book cover to cover in 2021 when it first came out and I was hooked I knew when I heard Reese Witherspoon was going to team up with production for the television version of the book I knew this is going to be epic. I love stories intertwined with music and one story that people can identify with too. This is a period piece, also relatable for those who grew up in the 1960s, 1970s, and 80s they can relate to the music, the fashion, time period, and all of the special events many all remember and will relive too. The characters are rich, they feel like real people, and you may even see a lot of references from actual timeless musicians we love and can spot right away. The cast has some newcomers and familiar faces when I saw the lead character who was casted.
I thought this is too insane and genius that they would pick Riley Keough(“Zola”, “The Girlfriend Experience”, “Mad Max: Fury Road”, “The Lodge”, and “The Terminal List”) who is the granddaughter, of the original “King of Pop & Rock & Roll” of the 1950s,60s, and 70s, Elvis Presley and daughter, of the late Lisa Marie Presley (1968-2023). So this role I feel was destined truly for her to play because of her rich history, knowledge of music. Also, because she looks just like Daisy on the art illustration book cover, it was just a no brainer she would be perfect for this role. The fans I think really are going to appreciate this story because you want something that hits you, comforts you, and inspires you as a creative. The stars definitely aligned with the knockout story.
Along with the lead, Keough her supporting cast to play her band members, friends, songwriters, producers, agents, and love interests include Sam Clafin (“Me Before You”, “Love Rosie”, “Enola Holmes”, “Adrift”, and “Pirates of the Caribbean”) as Billy Dunne, Suki Waterhouse (“The Bad Batch, “Persu

asion”, “The Divergent Series”, “Love Rosie”, “Assassination Nation”) as Karen Sirko, Camilla Morrone (“Never Going Back”, “Mickey & The Bear”, “Bukowski”, “Gonzo Girl”) as Camila Dunne, Will Harrison as Graham Dunne (“Manhunt”, “It’s Perfect Here”, Sebastian Chacon (“Emergency”, “Penny Dreadful: City of Angels”, “Puzzle”, “Tales of the City”, “The Get Down”) as Warren Rhodes, Josh Whitehouse (“1921”, “Valley Girl”, “The Knight Before Christmas”, “Poldark”, “Alleycats”) as Eddie Roundtree, Timothy Olyphant ( “Santa Clarita Diet”, “Hitman”, “The Girl Next Door”, “DieHard”, “Deadwood”, and “Scream 2”) as Rod Reyes, Nabiyah Be (“The White Wedding”, “Black Panther”) will star as Daisy Jones’s best friend, Simone Jackson, and Jacqueline Obradors (“Six Days, Seven Nights”, “Tortilla Soup”, “A Man Apart”, “Atlantis: The Lost Empire”, “Unstoppable”, “The Bad Asses”) as Lucia.
Be sure to check out the long-awaited television series, “Daisy Jones & The Six” tomorrow which debuts on Amazon Prime March 3, 2023 and these other films. Also look out for “One True Loves” the novel turned film this spring in April 2023. Thank goodness fast forward now we have Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Back then it was e-mail and AIM or instant messager to connect with your people...but anyway that's beside the point. I see this beautiful Caribbean tall woman come on a screen dancing, singing, and she looks young. Turns out she was she's about 17 years old.
We
look up and MTV Europe is playing a video. I look at the screen I see this
woman up on a television screen singing “Pon de Replay” and her name is
Rihanna, Robyn Rihanna Fenty was on the screen. I love these moments in my life
because when you see someone on screen you know this is going to be a moment. I
have had a lot of those magical moments when you see a musician and you know
this person is going to be a star. 100 percent I am not kidding you my intuition was on point.
If you come along with me on this
musical journey when you fast forward and jump into your time machine now 18
years later this multi-platinum and multi-hyphenated artist has grown immensely
as a musician, recording artist, entrepreneur, and entertainer. I see the evolution of this
artist because you’re amazed, you respect, and are inspired by who they have
become. The music industry has changed since 2005 when she first made her first
music debut to the world with her first album “Music of the Sun”. Social media
evolved, technology, promotion evolved not just with hands on physical
promotion but the digital age blossomed
and grew where music can be seen visually, audio, downloaded, and streamed. In
her 20 plus career she has been able to connect with her fans on all platforms.
One of my favorite moments I
remember early in my career during my internship at Universal Music Group. I
was sitting down at the administrative assistant, Jasmine’s desk. It was early
winter I am going to say February 2007 I am sitting at the desk working
something for my boss and the staff. I heard this drum intro I heard Jay-Z rapping.
and this girl singing “You have my
heart….and we’ll never be worlds apart” and it was the introduction to her
song, “Umbrella”. There was a special moment happening when I feel chills,
goosebumps, the hair standing on my neck, and then I know boom…this is it. This
is another big moment and this is going to change her career. Umbrella was on
the charts for 33 weeks and was number 1 for 7 weeks on the Billboard Music
charts. She has had 14 number 1 hits, 32 top 10 hit songs, 63 songs featured on
the Billboard Music charts. Do you remember these hits, “Rude Boy”,
“Disturbia”, “Work”, “Take A Bow”, “Only Girl in the World”, “Live your life”
featuring T.I., “Stay” ft. Mikky Ekko, “We Found Love” featuring Calvin Harris,
“S&M” ft. Britney Spears.
Now with 9 albums under her belt,
she has added actress appearing in films like “Battleship”, “Home”, “Ocean’s
8”, and many more films to come. Also with a 2019 Billboard Icon music
award, countless
MTV awards, and more. In her 20-year plus career she has also
added mogul with her beauty brand, Fenty Beauty to the list, her lingerie line,
Savage Fenty, and this past spring in May just added mother as a title to her
personal life with her boyfriend fellow musician, ASAP Rocky. How does this
woman do it all is the first question I would ask her and next are you excited
and ready to be on one of the world’s biggest stages and platforms? I would
also say it has been a 6-year hiatus with her own music. Rihanna did take the
time collaborate with other recording artists and musicians during that period
but she focused on her adding her businesswoman hat to her world at the same
time. She collaborated during that time with Bryson Tiller, DJ Khaled, Eminem, and
has also many collaborations with her label mates from Roc Nation, Jay-Z, Kanye
West, Wale, Sir Paul McCartney, and Calvin Harris. The hits continue to come
over and over. Rihanna just teamed up with the Wakanda Forever soundtrack and
was featured on “Lift Me Up” was released to the public in November of
2022. The Rihanna Navy has been asking and begging “Bad Gal RiRi” for a new
album since her number one hit album, “Anti” in 2016. I believe her next album is
100 percent coming and will be on the way especially after she prepares for
this show coming in 2023. Get ready to go back down memory lane, to celebrate, to party, this beautiful, amazingly talented millennium icon of the 21st century. The woman has had so many countless hits, collaborations, remixes, and continues evolving her brand and titles. Give it up for RiRi. I know many of you are excited just as I am too. Congratulations! Get ready to party 2.12.2023 with the millions of fans at the Superbowl or on your big screen television in February.

Do you remember the first time you heard this song? I was only a year old or less when the song came out. Whitney Houston was in her early twenties with a new album and hit song on her hands. Houston was nicknamed as “the voice” of an angel. Ordained and touched by God, the genes of her mother and father, and divine energy. Whitney had the kind of voice, looks, and charisma specifically made for a star.
I never had a chance to see Whitney live I wanted to so badly, but I was a huge fan listening to her music from her films, CDs, and tape cassettes my parents brought home. I still listen to Whitney to this day and have her songs on YouTube and Pandora when I need a boost to get me going. Whitney Elizabeth Houston aka “Nippy” her childhood nickname was a woman of many talents’ executive producer, songwriter, singer, actor I am sure many of you have seen “The Bodyguard” “Cinderella”, “Waiting to Exhale”, “The Preacher’s Wife”, “Sparkle”, and more.
“I wanna dance with somebody” I feel like is another chapter of Whitney’s life where you get to see the whole musical journey behind the scenes. This comes from the director of “Bohemian Rhapsody” the story of Queen, British rock and roll legends and Freddy Mercury’s journey. I loved how they showed the journey to the song, what situation led up to writing massive number one hits.
This movie is going to take us down memory lane, I was a fan I discovered Whitney the early 1990s I am going to say 1990 so I was three going on 4 years old. Her video “I am your baby tonight” I think was one of the first videos I am like who is this lady? Fell in love with her voice and her style. Whitney admired the pop culture greats like Audrey Hepburn, Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, and Barbara Streisand. Women who could be versatile. You saw that in her videos. She was not just dancing, acting, or singing. You can see this elegant and glamorous style on camera, magazines, in person. She can be the casual diva in a sweat suit and jeans, but she always had this regal presence on stage and this powerhouse charisma.
I believe the actor playing Whitney is stepping into huge shoes and this is a transformational role.
The same way how when Angela Bassett played Tina Turner, Jennifer Hudson playing Aretha Franklin, Jamie Foxx playing Ray, or Sissy Spacek playing Loretta Lynn. Whitney’s story will continue to be told and shared for decades to come with new renditions, more information, memories, stories, music, and more in the future. I believe Naomi did amazing with a respectful, classy, and detailed account of her life. There were embellishments, there were details added about her life or turned around a bit. Which is something we cannot forget as writers, screenwriters, producers. Always fact check the details where a couple first met, what year they met, how old they were, who introduced them too. Those details matter too. I saw the film Christmas Eve and I thought it was amazing they captivated her essence.
Ackie really captured her essence and did an excellent job with her accent, her diction, Whitney’s inflections were incredible. The movie gives us insight and more detailed with how they molded Whitney, how they wanted a bubblegum pop image for her during the 1980s, 1990s. There is a lot of people often do not see the intricacies in the music industry that take to develop an artist. You see a new artist at their rawest form when they first come out and then you notice a year or two later, they just flourish and immerse into something else.
It is an added layer of whip cream on a sundae, they become more polished, more detailed with their creative process, and what the want to share in radio, television, social media, and more.
You get to see the transition of a raw young teenager who just had that talent. No frills, no lace, no extra additions, a voice, a microphone, natural born talent, although Whitney struggled with slight stage fright. Her training from being in the choir, performing as an artist is what took her to the next level. She can perform in front of hundreds, thousands, then even millions and beyond as a recording artist. Arista, Clive Davis, her parents, and team really contributed to molding her into the woman and the artist we saw on stage. Maturity took her to the next level of how she wanted to convey certain songs and records to her fans too. Initially you see Clive Davis and producers are searching for records. They were “shopped” to her and producers for both of their opinions. You do not get to see her really pitch in until later after her records topped the music charts.
One part of the movie I really loved is when you see her pressing Clive Davis for more empowering records.
She always wanted to give her fans her best. She thought about how we can connect with the fans at that time to make hits. How do they connect to, their hearts, their minds, and makes them still want to have a wonderful time. She loved big ballads, big symphonies, but she could also cross over into pop music and more too.
The movie shows the development of a true international star who can crossover into any genre of music with a powerful instrument all by using her greatest gift, blessing, and talent, her voice. Whitney’s voice earned her the nickname “The voice” which led to so much success in music and entertainment industry. She is now a legend who will continue to go on to inspire manyup and coming singers, actors for years to come of all backgrounds in life. Go seeSet a date and watch, “I wanna dance with somebody” take your friends and family to see it.

My New York City you know I love you. You have seen me grown from baby to girl to teenager to adult under many sunsets, sunrises, and moons. So I could not ignore one of my favorite NYC stores celebrating its 150th birthday and anniversary this year in 2022.
I had to be about 10 years old when I officially discovered Macy’s one of the brands connected to Bloomingdales the Herald Square flagship store on 34th street and Bloomingdales department stores. Two household New York City staples that have stood the test of time for a century and a half. They evolve and update with the current year and times. I never thought I would be able to be a part of both stores. I walked in with my mom one day I vividly remember this was fall 1997 and she’s telling me “Go get what you need” and look around the store. I came across a Tommy Hilfiger red, white, and blue comforter in the Macy’s bedding department. I remember this moment because it was a lesson in life on value, worth, and knowing what you’re worth. At first, I remember telling my mom, “It’s too expensive I will get something else”. I felt horrible, badly because it was a named brand item. I told her “No this is too much maybe we should go somewhere else.” My mom took it and we walked out of the store.
She bought it for me anyway and I proudly put it on my twin size mattress at home in my new room. I can’t remember what happened to the bedspread it’s been over two decades but I always remember the lesson. Sometimes in life we deserve to treat ourselves, especially our children, never short-change yourself or your children. Your children are worth every single moment of time, every gift you can afford to give them, and they’re your most valuable assets. Also know that you’re 100 percent worth every cent of that item if you can afford it. She taught me early while going down the streets of Fifth Avenue you see Versace, Chanel, Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, and Gucci. “Chloe, do not be afraid to ever go into these department stores.” I think she wanted to teach me early do not feel inferior or intimidated. You walk in there proudly and you show them you can afford the item and that you bought it. I think it was a lesson I still carry with me it’s not about materialism it's about your child developing a sense of pride, confidence, and integrity. You will not feel inferior about anything whether you can afford it you can go and browse. Do not feel scared to go into high end stores even if you cannot buy the item that day. Maybe you’re learning a sense of style, class, fashion, or you want to see something beautiful too. It taught me it does not matter if its high end you can still obtain it one day.
So when I passed by a Bloomingdales store one day I was a teenager at this point and went inside with my mom it felt like this amazing a whole different world the moment I arrived. I remember such positive experiences because she took me to check out the MAC Cosmetics lipsticks. Back then MAC had been around close to over a decade and they were crushing sales and booming.
I remember seeing Bloomingdales a few times thinking I want to work there. I fell in love with fashion, clothing, reading Vogue, In Style, Elle magazines wanting to emulate everyone’s evening wear and personal style. I knew I am going to work there one day. Well life had a few fun curveballs in the work department for me so I couldn’t be a part of the Bloomingdales family until I earned my stripes it took a long time to get there.
Fall 2014 I signed with Macy’s one day after my 28th birthday and started at their Flushing Queens downtown store in Chinatown. Then fast forward after more administrative jobs and opportunities Fall 2018 I walked in Bloomingdales and asked for a job finally earning a sales associate job in their Christmas Trim section with the other holiday sales team. I loved it and it was a true blessing.
Bloomingdale’s is magical their visual department the creativity is out of this world. They are mind blowing with every year a new display, another theme, another new way to wear fashion trends. All their stores captivate you, transform you, and you escape your reality. I have seen contortionist doing ballet and acrobatics at their stores, Gorgeous displays for the Chinese New Year, a life-sized gingerbread house, a life-size snow globe where I can take pictures. I have photos too and it’s amazing true unbelievable experiences.
I am so glad I had 8 years with Macy’s, 2 years working for Bloomingdales, and I am still apart of the Macy’s/Bloomingdales family I felt and still feel honored for that experience.
Every evening gown, bathing suit, studded, feather shoe, glitzy shoe I was staring at, every time I stopped at 40 Carrots the yogurt store within their travel luxury luggage department, or bought a little piece home with me I felt proud. Dreams come true even if you just wanted to be a part of New York City history. It's a blessing, the right time, place, and people can open doors for you. The talented fashion designers, artists, entertainers, models, and everyone who have graced a cover wearing a purchase from Bloomingdales. The countless entertainers, artists, designers who have appeared at the store. They have all witnessed a piece of history.
Congratulations! to Bloomingdales on 150 years of phenomenal, fabulous fashion!
Follow Bloomingdales on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok, and come out in September on the 9th watch at home if you can't be here in person or come see us for the 150th Anniversary congratulations to every store around the country.
This particular location was made and built in 1930 by 59th and Lexington Avenue just wanted to put a little more history in about the building. I know a few secrets but can't tell you everything lol.
Me in front of the store and my job (still a part of the Bloomingdales & Macy's family) more pictures coming soon. Congratulations Bloomingdales! See you all at the party & celebration !
Congratulations to multiplatinum international artist, Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty aka "Nicki Minaj" is the 2022 Video Vanguard MTV recipient this year.
Nicki Minaj arrived on the scene in 2007 when fellow hip-hop artist, producer, and Young Money founder/owner, Dwayne Michael “Lil Wayne” Carter, Jr. discovered her and she became the first lady of Young Money Records. Nicki released mixtapes during this time period but it was her first appearance with Ludacris on “My Chick Bad” in 2009 which caught MTV’s attention and her billions of fans worldwide. Nicki is an artist of our time truly a woman of this generation. She knows her own mind, her purpose, and her destiny. She’s not afraid to let you know I worked hard for this day and night inside the studio writing out rhymes, studying her craft, studying the arts, musicals, movies, entertainment, coming up with original characters for her first album. She sacrificed her time, her energy, even being away from her family and friends of Saint James Trinidad & Tobago and South Jamaica Queens, New York to become one of the baddest, most influential, and international hip-hop female artists of this generation and 21st century.
Her capabilities include her style of rapping it’s not mixing, measuring, and putting words together to rhyme, Nicki transforms with different alter-egos with her image, her syncopated fast way of rapping, and switches up her pitch, tone, and vocal ability.
She changes into a more coquettish, sweet, vulnerable side in her songs like “You see right thru me”, “Your Love”, “By My Side” ft. Chris Brown she’s rapping on songs when she turns into a beast. She shows her vulnerability in her lyrics in songs like “Pills N Potions” from her “Pinkprint” 2014 album ,”Bed of Lies” they show the side of her when her personal relationships and her real-life experiences.
You have different facets of Nicki then you get the fun, fabulous, pop party girl Nicki songs “Starships”, “The Night is still young”, “Bang Bang” hit song ft Ariana Grande and Jessie J, “Side to Side” her collaboration with Ariana Grande. Ariana and Nicki have collaborated on a few of her hit songs in the 2010s. Nicki has shown her audience she’s capable of collaborating with anyone in her music. She’s recorded with pop international divas, Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Rihanna, she’s collaborated with hip hop artists, EDM producers like David Guetta, dance producers, and the list continues to expand and grow.
She never forgets her Young Money Family and Team they will pair up in the recording studio in a minute to pump out a number one hit or hits on the Billboard Music Charts. Nicki has consistently for the last 15 years has stayed on the Top 40 list. Most recently she just hit number one this week in August for her release “Very Freaky Girl” a song featuring a sample of the hit maker, the late great, Rick James’s 1980s hit, “Superfreak”. Nicki again knows how to connect to her all of audience and what will grab and captivate their attention time and time again.
She has also dabbled into acting she was featured in the movie “Barbershop 3” with Ice Cube, Common, Eve, Regina Hall, Cedric the Entertainer, and a whole ensemble cast. She showed off her acting comedic chops and with her debut in “The Other Woman” with Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann. You can see Nicki’s versatility her education and performance art skills from LaGuardia Performing Arts, plus her
natural charisma, talent, and fiery personality is what has made her become the rightful star she so deserves to be in the entertainment and especially the music industry. Congratulations to Nicki Minaj, Young Money too for finding an incredible artist, and all of those who have collaborated with this Trinidadian Queen from Queens.
She’s about to go to a whole different level now as an artist.
Some Facts and Stats about Nicki for the last decade between (2009-2019) Nicki Minaj has won Billboard Music Awards for best rap album, rap artist, rap song, new artist in 2011, streaming song artists in 2012 in Canada she went 2x platinum, Denmark 10,000, Poland 10,000, Sweden, 10000, United Kingdom, 100,000, and in the United States alone she has 34.5 million certified digital singles, 3 compilation albums, 4 studio albums, 9 Grammy Awards including New Artist, Best Rap Duo or Group, Rap Song, and Album. Not bad for a woman who is still in her 30s and just became a wife and mother to a baby boy 2 years ago. Nicki shows us all you can have it all. You just have to be willing to sacrifice yourself, your dream, and just truly be yourself along the way.
Congratulations Queen Nicki you so deserve this and excited to see what’s next on the horizon with the new album, new singles, videos, and more.

2019 I wasn’t ready I feel like I wasn’t quite there to have my hot girl summer, I had fun but I remember that year I was working and running like crazy actually I didn’t really have a chance to just say… “Ok let’s hit the pause button and just stop to vacay”. I was working 3 jobs actually and trying to make ends meet. I was on a roll actually. The following year we all shut down we were all on pause in 2020. 2021..things starting warming up I was back to working full time I took a small birthday/anniversary trip to celebrate my bestie and her husband’s anniversary and her daughter’s birthday too. We took an epic memorable trip to Magic Kingdom that was amazing, an experience I will cherish forever, and hope we all get a chance again. Now finally this time in 2022 I feel like I am on the brink of a hot girl summer.
Your girl dropped about 15 pounds (April 2020-June 2022) (Pandemic Weight….10 more to go as the saying goes even during the pandemic God’s still not done with me yet. I feel honored to keep on fighting on Earth. Ya’ll seriously would’ve thought I had 2 kids already by now lol the way I was eating my mom’s homemade cookies, brownies, fried chicken, Macaroni & cheese, brussel sprouts, and my own cooking lol.) How did I do it….small portions, a nutritionist, walking, going back to the gym, taking the stairs. No special diet, or tricks. Just saying you can do it, you ate, enjoyed these meals, now it’s time to tone up that’s it. Do it for you no one else. I did it I thought about all of the beautiful days, celebrations, parties, concerts, festivals, beach days, and new men I would meet.
I didn’t do it for them…I did it for me. I did it for my arthritis, I was diagnosed in January 2020 the same year we got hit with the pandemic, I realized that me losing the “pandemic weight” would help my bones, extra weight would add extra pressure to my bones, especially my knees and joints. So we focused on a nutritional diet, no specialties, just small portions, and maybe the occasional snack, I substituted “the bad sweets”: processed sweets, processed ice creams, donuts, and cookies (only the bad sweets for special occasions or a reward maybe once a month). I limited my intake. I tried to reward myself with “the good sweets”: yogurt, fruit, fruit snacks, chocolate milk, almonds, popcorn, protein snacks, Kind bars.
Then let’s say in my love life I dropped 500 pounds of “Man Weight” which is probably the total amount of pounds for the men I was dating in the past lol!!!! (I am single, I embrace it I am not looking back anymore) and ready to start fresh. I always get really excited when I am single, I am starting a new job soon because it means I am on a new path and journey. Maybe even possibly moving somewhere new finally. So I feel like for me this summer I can finally start fresh again. So to all of my single ladies, engaged ladies, married ladies, dating ladies, divorced ladies, moms, moms to be lol…this is for you.
You ready let’s have a hot girl summer all of you beautiful “Mamacitas” deserve a “Hot Girl Summer” this year after the last 2 ½ years you deserve to just hit the pause button on everything and say. “Yes I am going to do something just for me and enjoy my time”.
“How to have a hot girl summer”
1. Remember when you would take those amazing trips with your girlfriends or your friends would go to the beach, go on a road trip, go on vacation let’s say Cancun, Daytona Beach, Miami or wherever. Do not lose that side of you…go somewhere that sparks joy, happiness, a happy moment, it doesn’t matter if you were 5, 15, 25, you get what I mean. Go to a place that brings you joy it signals something in your brain to say. “Yes I remember what life was like when I came here…those were good times. Stay in that moment”. Salvage and treasure that moment and then recreate it with the people who you love who bring out the best in you, or if you want to go solo and have some peace and you time. Do that too.
Even if I am home in NYC I can still have a hot girl summer here too. Or wherever I travel to lol. Have fun ladies. Enjoy!
I needed this day this was moment I knew..."Yeah it's time for a hot girl summer" LMAO!!!!! taken June 25, 2022 in Coney Island-Brooklyn NY
I took a trip to Coney Island by myself and it actually did me some good. I ate Pina Colada gelato at “Coney’s Cones”, stuck my feet in the water at the beach, looked at all of the smiling faces, couples kissing in the ocean, and kids playing in the sand. That was all I needed it only cost me $5.50 for the trip, $7.00 for the ice cream, and then I treated myself to the movies. That’s all I needed was something happy, familiar, and enjoyable to take me back to a happier, less complicated time. Not only that but it just made me remember everything will pass. You will be even better this was a challenging time but you will come back.
