Fun, Family, hopefully they can survive together in Almost Christmas

Get ready for this holiday season a little earlier than expected. Get ready to celebrate with this wild and crazy family. I love holiday movies especially that feature Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas these are the times that we get to involve our families into popular traditions and we get to be a part of the festivities. We tell stories of past celebrations, talk about our family tree, we share fun moments and customs as well. No matter who you celebrate with during the holiday season this is a time to love, cherish, and enjoy every single person you love whether they are family,  friends, co-workers, neighbors, or those who help your community be better every single day. So with that being said let’s talk a little bit about Christmas and some of the popular Christmas movies. Last holiday season I actually just watched the original 1989 and classic Griswold’s  Christmas family vacation it was hilarious actually has made me want to consider a few Christmas trips myself, I love Best Man Holiday as one of my favorites, Just Christmas (2007) and “The Holiday” (2006) are some of my favorites too. So whenever a holiday film comes I am ready to see it. So who will be starring in our next comedic holiday film this Fall/Winter. Get ready because we have an all –star cast who is extremely multi-talented and have some major acting chops.

Almost Christmas stars a family coming together for the holidays. The patriarch of the family played by legendary actor Danny Glover (little note I met Danny back in 2003 in person one of the sweetest people and down to earth) in case some of my readers don’t know who he is let’s just name a few of his films, “Color Purple”, “Lethal Weapon” trilogy, “Beloved”, “Saw Five”, “Dirty Grandpa”, “Dream girls”, and he stars on Criminal Minds. He has received 4 NAACP Awards, 3 Cable Ace Awards, and an MTV Movie Award. I cannot wait to see him in a more comedic role because we know he has tremendous range and go from any role to the next.  Next up you know her as one of the original “Queens of Comedy” the beautiful and hilarious, Mo’Nique!! (“The Parkers”, “Blackbird”, “Welcome home Roscoe Jenkins”, “Hair Show”, “Precious” and “Two can play that game”.) she will play the feisty and glamorous, “Aunt May”. Now this person I haven’t seen in a long time on the big screen but have seen him playing many other roles. So it’s nice to see his face again actually. Omar Epps, “Juice”, “The Wood”, Love & Basketball”, “Higher Learning”, “Scream 2”, and “House”. He will star as one of the patriarch’s children in this film. Also starring in the film will be Gabrielle Union who you have seen her in films like, “With this Ring”, “Deliver Us From Eva”, “The Honeymooners”, “Act Like A Lady think Like A Man 1 and 2”, “The Brothers”. Also starring is John Michael Higgins is starring as well he has appeared in "Happily Divorced:, "and "Attorney At Law"Harvey Birdman". "  The film also stars, Nicole Ari Parker-Kodjoe, “Rosewood”, “Vipaka”, and “Repentance”, next up is Kimberly Elise who stars on VH-1’s “Hit the Floor” and you’ve seen her in past films “Set it Off” and “Beloved” you will see her also play one of Danny’s children the eldest daughter. Also starring he just came off from being in Barbershop JB Smoove lends his comedic acting chops in Almost Christmas. Now last but not least are two newcomers to the entertainment game making their debut on the big screen, “newbies” Jessie T Usher (“Criminal Minds”, “Independence Day” , and “Survivor’s Remorse”, and lastly, internet personality, DC Young Fly will star in the film as well. One person I could not forget who will also star in this film is singer/songwriter Keri Hilson who will also make her screen debut this fall as well so look out for her cameo too.

So with that being said who is going to see this film full of actors who are definitely going to bring this fun warm family holiday comedic film to  theaters on November 11, 2016-Friday visit http://www.almostchristmasmovie.com

Watch out for this lady on the train she may be coming for you!!! "Girl on the train" in theaters Fall 2016

I have been looking forward to this film reading the book again just to make sure I can watch and see every detail. Imagine when you are sitting on the train wherever you live. Your mind starts to wonder and you think about your day ahead, the journey and the ride.  Now you start making stories up about the person sitting across from you. You think about their life, what their occupation may be, if they have a family, friends, etc. For the protagonist in Paula Hawkin’s “Girl on the train” is one definitely one character you will remember.  read the book last fall in 2015 I took it with me during my trip to New Orleans actually brought it on the plane, and could not put this book down. I was so happy to find get the dramatic cliff hanger ending too. The film is about Rachel Watson (played by Emily Blunt)- who starred in “5 Year Engagement”, “Devil wears Prada” she plays  a recent divorcee who has an alcoholic problem that has affected her marriage , her career, and her personal life is the complex character who we get to know in this deep, mysterious, and chilling film. The film is set in modern day London in the summer of 2013. All the while she engages herself staring and wondering what the life of this beautiful blonde woman and her husband are up to doing. I think this film is going to transform you into the world of a voyeur but also it will take you to a place of where the character has to stand up and fight for the victim who has been killed within the film. The character turns out to be the woman who Rachel has seen on the train. Rachel becomes invested in the case and begins telling the press and the police investigators about what she knows. She becomes involved and then things get deeper she dives into the missing girl’s life and discovers she has way more in common with her than she realized actually. Get ready for the next “Gone Girl” to make your head spin this fall. “Girl on the train” debuts on October 7, 2016-Friday! Visit http://www.girlonthetrain.com

Start a new beginning...he said

He said “Let’s start a new beginning…”

All right guys my love life this year has had some crazy twists and turns some gentlemen didn’t want to give me another chance some of the guys were just not going to be the right fit at all….I wasn’t sure where I was going to end up…but apparently the universe may want me to be with this person who is still in my life for some crazy reason. “Mr. Engineer” you know who you are…apparently he’s been following inside the world of HBS and reading my blog. He knows this means a lot to me because as a journalist/freelance writer we can take what we can get if you have the time to read throughout your busy day. It’s all appreciated completely. I am open to this believe me I am a busy person and if I am not ever busy I keep myself preoccupied  cause there is always something to do believe me.  Now that does not mean I don’t have time for my family or friends. I try my best to make effort and time. If I haven’t for them I will do better but as far the man in my life goes I want us to make the effort, make the time, build something. Why not build something beautiful when we know we both can.  I believe we could because we are both in great places in our lives plus he’s not going to be far away from me anymore…he’s coming  to NYC!  He will be here very soon and I know this will be new for the both of us. At the same time because I live here and he used to live here it should be an easy adjustment. It just means more travel for the both of us but it will be more convenient, easy, and we will have time to see where we fit into both of our lives too.

For me I see this as an opportunity to build and start something from scratch I want to do that but my memory is long and strong so at the same time a part of me goes don’t forget either. I want this to be a great moment for both of us. It will be a great new chapter for me and him. I can see it becoming a moment for us try to make things better, open up our worlds to each other. I think it will be a bit new, a bit fun, and my family and friends will come to see the sweetheart of a man I came to know in the beginning when we first met down south. So please stay tuned my dear readers I think I am going to have a few chapters for you guys now.   I pray and hope this will be a story that will have a positive ending too. With me either way you know I am classy about it and we can be grownups too. So no matter what happens I am going to embrace the new change. So babe I am open to a new beginning if you are reading this somewhere lol. =) See you soon and my readers I will have more to discuss you know there’s always more to share of course.

Get fun, get ready, and strut your stuff like the models it's fashion week in NYC 2016

Where do I live? I live in New York City honey! So as a young fashionista and journalist on the rise. I  have always loved clothes, shopping, I actually design and sketch evening dresses and special occasion dresses and accessories too  is one of my hobbies. Little tidbit....my mother as you know as has a t-shirt company Urban Global Tees, my grandmother Shirley was a model, sews and makes clothes too, and my great grandma Margie did too (it's in the genes).
I always wanted my own fashion label too and beauty products. Now because my name is Chloe it’s hard to choose a name when it’s already taken (I love the clothing and well known high- fashion label Chloe adore their clothes). I love clothes from the past decades and retro fashions but I also love clothes that are modern too I try to keep up with the trends but in a moderate way sometimes we can love so many trends it gets confusing and overwhelming. So I will try to incorporate a few trends I love and what works best for me too. I love clothes that are well tailored and fit women’s bodies and accentuate our curves and shapes. I love clothes that make me still feel feminine, sexy, fun, interesting, and reflect my personality and mood. I also love being a chameleon too. I have had dreams of having my own spread in In Style magazine or Vogue magazine either writing, interviewing, or even me being covered in the story. I would even help assist, write, shoot the photographs, help with styling too if that opportunity ever came to me. So you see when it comes to me and clothes I consider a lot of things. I consider the occasion, the season, what looks best on my shape, and will I be comfortable in this all day. I believe that’s the most important thing with fashion you want to be comfortable.

Often times we see beautiful clothing and artistic designs that can get us a bit frustrated too. It make us want to take off our favorite patent leather four inch pumps and slide on some ballet flats immediately. So one thing with New Yorkers we opt for both. We carry both actually with us from day and night. That’s how we fluctuate throughout the day and we still remain on point too at night time as we know nightlife is when the city comes alive!. As you also know in New York a lot of women break rules for fashion too. They can create their own designs and outfits that can become a trend right away. This summer I have noticed a lot of fashion trends that I actually fell in love with from just average New York women. I saw a young lady walking down on the Upper East Side with a Watermelon  print dress I thought was so cute it was appropriate and fitting. Then a woman with a short 1920’s cut bob and a crossword puzzle print skirt and plain top with heels on the subway. See just that alone you know that they have style and they’re not afraid to show it. What are my favorite Fall trends so far I love how they are using the color blush a lot this fall and using that as a new color trend. I love deep reds, browns, golds, mustard yellows, grays for the Fall. I am not afraid to put a few pastel colors in there two as long as we can mix it up. I think my top 5 favorite pieces for Fall are a great coat I love coats, boots, hats, sweater dresses, and purses. I think once I am covered with those 5 I am great!!!! I have loved boots since I bought my very first expensive pair. Purses there are always so many to choose from as well. Hats I can never go wrong with a hat I know this will add some flair to my outfit, and I love a good cozy sweater dress. I can easily walk down the street with a black leather jacket (that’s the staple for me), dark washed jeans, some black knee high boots, and a cute shirt it can even just be a regular t-shirt. It’s easy breezy, fun, casual, and you look like you’re still on point. I have tons of fashion to show you all and will have plenty of photos to show as well. So since I am a little late for fashion week I am going to do my best. Bridget Jones's Baby third part to a hilarious series!

In 2001 we come to know this special character she’s hilarious, bawdy, with a great sense of humor. Bridget Jones (played be Renee Zellwegger)  London’s favorite party girl is now settling down and will be expecting a child in this third installment. I have always loved the films. My mom was the one who hooked and turned me to British humor. She and a few other relatives laugh and enjoy shows with British accents. I personally love their accents too. Now aside from Bridget’s accent I love that she’s an aspiring journalist too. She’s not cookie cutter, she’s not perfect but in our eyes of course we think of course she is. She has done it all gone to jail in Thailand, kissed Mark Darcy (played by Colin Firth) in the snow in zebra print knickers, and now she will be having a baby with either Mark Darcy or perhaps Patrick Dempsey aka “Mr. McDreamy’s” character in this new film. I am personally rooting for her and Darcy because I wanted to see them become a family in the second film, “Edge of Reason” (2004) but with this new chapter maybe things have changed, she can be in a whole different place within the film and maybe things could be a lot different from where we left them on that Winter day when Bridget’s parents remarried and renewed their vows.  So for me as a hopeless romantic I hope whoever the lucky bloke is he will be the right fit for Bridget and her family in the film. So get ready to get your laugh on this weekend! Bridget returns to theaters September 16, 2016 on Friday! This movie will teach you about how to be more "Loving" in theaters November 2016

Imagine living in a world where you could not be with the person you love. Imagine not being able to live in the community, state, or neighborhood you love with that person and your family. You could not see them or be with them at all. You're completely separated and segregated and  It’s literally you fighting against the government, fighting against your country, and the judicial system to be with the person you love. This film takes place in the late 1950s where childhood sweethearts an African American young Mildred Jeter and Richard Loving grow up together and later fall in love to become a couple. As they get older they later become a couple and begin cohabitating. According to Virginia state law in 1958 because of  the 400-year miscegenation laws they were not allowed to live together as a married couple. There is something very powerful about this story. We live in a world and country where people now are able to be free to be them selves. Now I know that with all couples everything of course can be a struggle from time to time. Financially, families, backgrounds, many points of views can be different. There’s something kind of crazy about when people cannot be together because of the law. Fortunately for this beautiful couple they used their minds to fight for their love. They went to former president and the late, great, John F. Kennedy and wrote them a letter discussing this issues they faced in their community and neighborhood. The Lovings lived in a mixed community and actually moved their purposely to raise their children and start their family in their community.
There is something amazingly beautiful about living on a planet with 7 continents we come from a world full of people who are diverse, have so many experiences and stories that can change the world. This is one of the stories where love can change a couple and the point of view of the country and world.  I loved the message right away. It’s one thing when you’re in a relationship and there is a major obstacle and challenge for you to fight against as a couple. You come together and find  a way to fight the problem and find a solution. It’s another thing when your whole entire state forbids you to live in the state. Then you are exiled leaving it for 25-years. That’s a pretty heartbreaking thing when not even the love of your life can be in your life and the world becomes against you. I love this story because we are talking about a time that wasn’t far away. 58 years ago…and which really is not that long ago but there’s something powerful about the timing of the story. It should have been addressed a long time ago. Now it’s time for people to explore this issue again. Realize we still can make our world more peaceful, more open-minded, more willing to fight for love, and most of all more Loving.  The film stars Ruth Negga and Joel Edgerton who will play Mildred and Richard Loving. The film will debut this fall in November on November 4, 2016-Friday. For more information on Virginia vs. Loving, more information on the couple, and the film. Visit http://www.focusfeatures.com/loving

Now one more thing I wanted to mention of course with my blog you know I am all about promotion, all about discussing what’s current, and what’s happening. You also know I discuss my life too….here’s one thing you didn’t know about me. I am only telling you this story to make a very fair point with this story…I come from a family of people who are very liberal…one thing I discovered that is apart of my history, my genes, and my story. On my mother, Gina's side-My great-grandfather, Fred Golden, Sr. was Half-Jewish and Half African American his father was Jewish and mother was African American.  I never met him but if I did I would have loved to have asked him what it was like growing up during that time in the 1950's in the twentieth century. Was it hard for him to be around his parents? I would ask him , I would ask about his experiences, and was it easier for him to live in California or was it harder to live in Midwestern, St. Louis, Missouri. I think for us now in this generation of course it’s easier to be with anyone in the 21st century we have had so many protests, so many fights against the legal systems all of the world.  I think our generation we always have to remember sometimes the world is easier because our ancestors went through situations that were harder and more challenging for them too. I hope you all will take someone special to see this film, some of you may see yourselves in this film and the characters, and I hope you all come back from this movie fighting for your love too. Just in time for the holiday seasons begin. Enjoy my dear readers and of course there's always more for me to share with you. I have got a lot to discuss believe and we are not even at the end of 2016 yet stay tuned....
